About Steve
Steve Vamos is a global executive and former CEO with more than 40 years’ experience in information technology and digital media in Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Asia. He has been on the frontline of every significant technology shift and economic shock since the 1980s with companies such as IBM, Apple, Microsoft, ninemsn and Xero.
Steve’s enduring focus in all his leadership roles has been to build great teams and a business culture that supports growth and high performance. For those fortunate enough to have worked with him, Steve is widely known as the boss who motivated them to be the best they could be, and who led their organisations through times of change with clarity, intelligence and empathy.
THROUGH SHIFTS AND SHOCKS
Steve brings his experience to life through a practitioner’s eye with the stories, frameworks, and tools he presents in the book. His unique and highly successful approach as a CEO and team leader comes from a deep appreciation of the human element of change, specifically during difficult times such as the dotcom crash, the global financial crisis, and a global pandemic. Using a concise framework of eight Must-Do actions, Through Shifts and Shocks provides leaders, teams and individuals with a clear pathway to follow for a better change experience.
SOCIETY FOR KNOWLEDGE ECONOMICS
In advocating for the importance of building and aligning great talent, Steve founded the Society for Knowledge Economics (SKE), a not-for-profit think tank which operated from 2005 to 2014, to encourage and promote new and better leadership and management practices which enable innovation, productivity and sustainability.
